Findem 1
This is a fun course designed to introduce you and your dog to the exciting world
of scent work. You will learn how scent is created, how it is affected by weather
conditions and how to motivate your dog to find hidden or missing people. Your dog
will learn how to work the wind, how to let you know he's found someone, but most
of all, you will both learn how to have fun.
Findem 2
A natural continuation of
"Findem 1" where you and your dog will both refine
your skills at people-searching. You will learn how to prepare for a search, how
to "read" your dog, and how to trust your dog's instincts. Your dog will learn how
to search at a distance, how to respond to your commands and how to execute different
search patterns.
These are two very practical courses and are held whatever the weather, so be prepared
to get down and dirty and enjoy making your dog proud to work for you.
Lost It
Can't remember where you put your keys or your cell-phone? Or perhaps you were out
in the bush practicing what you learned in the
Findem courses and lost your
wallet or purse. Then
"Lost It" is the course for you.
We will again cover the characteristics of scent and then, with the aid of scent-boxes,
introduce you and your dog to the principles of article searching. You will learn
how to motivate your dog and how to recognise and reinforce your dogs natural "alert".
As the course progresses, you will be able to search a wide area for a concealed
article, and have the confidence that your dog will be successful.
