Alex's 5 day comprehensive Canine Hydrotherapy course was much more in-depth than
I had anticipated. I am a Registered Massage Therapist and Certified Canine Massage
Therapist, and its thoroughness still far exceeded my expectations! Alex infuses
all of her dog training methods, her intuitive bond with dogs, her experience in
the water with her own Search & Rescue Cadavar dog Levi, and her 4+ years of hands-on
in the water experience working with dogs of all shapes and sizes for Arthritis,
Hip Dysplasia, Post-ACL and TPLO surgeries, Weight Loss, Sport Conditioning, and
more. The course itself gives you a foundation in Basic Anatomy, How the muscles
of the body work and move, common conditions you see at a pool, precautions with
these conditions, protocols for the conditions focussing on endurance or strength,
and a helpful section on first aid. The course also focuses on what you need to
know about Hydrotherapy, the scientific reasons of how buoyancy and resistance work,
benefits, health and safety, rules and regulations, and roles and responsibilities.
Also, there is an extensive section on pool management, chemicals and trouble shooting.
We spent 20 hours of hands-on in the water training, had an 80 question exam, as
well as approximately 10 case studies to complete before being awarded our Certificate.
After taking the course in September 2008, I began offering canine hydrotherapy
services to my clients. Without the comprehensive training I received through Alex's
course, I would not have felt this comfortable about offering these services through
my own pool. This is a testament to the completeness of the course. I have recommended
it to many others.

Hydrotherapy is one of the most exciting physical developments in the field of complementary
care.
I have witnessed the phenomenal benefits that patients can achieve when they enter
a program that is designed to alleviate the muscular and myofascial pain that is
present as a consequence of age, athletic strain, pre and post surgery.
The program is how ever only as good as the people who deliver it. The success is
dependant on the precise knowledge of the therapist and their ability to relay and
apply this information to the patient and their handlers.
Alex Debolt is such a person, and her gift for understanding the patient and their
particular needs is really extraordinary. What Alex brings to the modality of hydrotherapy
now, is where it should be 10-20 years from now.
I have absolute confidence in Alex's ability and highly recommend her and her training
course.
